Building a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Every day at St. John’s we are imagining a better tomorrow for our patients. Since 1941, the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
(NICU) has provided the highest level of care for premature or seriously ill babies across south-central Illinois. With the knowledge and resources available, we focus on not only helping babies survive despite their seemingly impossible odds, but also thrive!
Though the NICU at St. John’s was constructed to be one of the most advanced healing environments in the nation, the way we now approach care of our tiniest patients has evolved. To continue to be at the forefront of medicine and provide our NICU patients with the best care possible, an expansive renovation of our NICU is needed.
With the collaboration of patient families, physicians, staff and industry experts, we’ve envisioned what care could and should look like to help our smallest, most vulnerable patients thrive.
